Diabetes occurs when the blood sugar level of a person turns out to be higher than normal. This is a result of interruption in the process of converting sugar into glucose, which circulates in the blood as food for the cells. The movement of the glucose is made possible by the right amount of insulin produced by healthy pancreas. People with diabetes experience either of the two types. The first type is that the pancreas is unable to produce insulin while the second type is that there is insulin but it is the cells that can't react.

Among the symptoms of diabetes is extreme thirst even if there is no exercise involved, undue hunger all the time, repeated urination, tiredness and stress, and sudden weight loss. Extreme thirst means that the body seems to require intake of more water or any liquid more than usual. If this symptom is unattended, dehydration can be experienced. When urination occurs more often than before, it means that there is too much glucose in the blood and insulin is not present. The kidneys try to get more water to make the glucose moving in the body.

Losing a huge amount of weight is another sign that a person is experiencing diabetes. Since the fuel needed by the cells is not delivered, the fats become replacements and are used. Along with this lack of stimulator for the cells, the energy that they produced is reduced in greater amounts making the person feel weaker and tired most of the time. Some of the other symptoms that may occur but not all the time are unclear vision, wounds that take longer times to heal and dry skin.

Since the two types of the sickness share the same symptoms, it is wise to go to a clinic and be checked when experiencing some of the indications. The doctor will prescribe a medicine to keep the blood sugar running normal. The medicine can take the form of pills taken orally or insulin to be injected if needed. There are different kinds of medicines available in the market and it is up to the prescription of the doctor what kind the patient will have to take. A change in the lifestyle may be recommended such as having a healthy exercise. There are foods that must be regulated such as sodas and sweets and having these diabetic facts is important. Blood sugar check will be done every time to see the change in the level.
